Meet Emily

Certified Mediator & Licensed Colorado Family Law Attorney

Emily Miller is an attorney and mediator who provides neutral, structured mediation services for individuals and families involved in legal disputes. Her approach focuses on maintaining an organized, efficient process where parties and counsel can work toward their own resolution outside of court.

Emily earned her Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School and holds an MBA from Northwood University. She is licensed in Colorado and Maryland and has experience in family law and probate matters, including divorce, custody, protection orders, and estate-related litigation.

Her background in litigation informs how she manages the mediation process, including organization of issues, pacing of discussions, and maintaining a productive environment. She is familiar with matters involving parenting time, decision-making, support, and property division.

Emily’s role as a mediator is to remain neutral, facilitate communication, and manage the process. She does not represent either party, provide legal advice, or direct outcomes. Parties and their counsel are responsible for making decisions and determining whether to reach an agreement.

Mediation at M&D Resolution Group is designed to provide a structured setting for negotiation outside of court, allowing parties to address issues at their own pace within a neutral framework.

Outside of her legal work, Emily is an equestrian and enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. These experiences shape her belief that life should not be defined by legal conflict, and that resolution should create space for people to move forward.

My Philosophy

I believe conflict does not have to define the outcome.

Family disputes are often layered with emotion, history, and uncertainty. While the legal system provides structure, meaningful resolution requires more than procedure - it requires clarity, steadiness, and practical problem-solving.

My philosophy is grounded in three principles: respect, structure, and forward focus. Every party deserves to be heard. Every discussion should be organized and productive. And every agreement should be built not just to resolve today’s dispute, but to support long-term stability.

Mediation works best when it balances compassion with realism. My role is to provide steady guidance and a structured process while helping parties explore thoughtful solutions that are practical, durable, and grounded in real-world considerations. When parties are given the space to think clearly and speak openly, even difficult disputes can move toward resolution.

Resolution should feel intentional - not rushed, not reactive, and not imposed.
